Deluge!

DSCN5641

Yesterday the weather conditions were particularly bad - so we went for a tootle on the moors. Just near Danby a car was abandoned.

Returning home we drove as far as we could up Handale Banks. The duck ponds had risen so much the entire road was covered.

The ducks meanwhile had found a make shift pond in the shape of a hugs puddle in one of the fields.

  1. Oh no! Is this in your garden? And unfortunately this seems to be an annual event now.

  4. Very similar scenes in the South West. My heart goes out to all those who have been flooded.
    Keep dry, Denise.

  5. Was that the road we walked up where the geese and ducks were? I hope the sun comes out soon to dry up all that wet! We've had 2 days of glorious sunshine but with a touch of frost.

  8. It is something that you do not expect to happen, but we have no control over the weather.

  9. The only creatures enjoying this weather are the ducks.
Keep your animals and hens high up away from the water in the dry!

  10. I am glad you got there and back safely. Water can be quite scary when it rises so quickly.

  11. I know all these places but they don't usually look like this! It seems that you should have a job as 'on the spot reporter' for Yorkshire Life maybe!!
