Thursday 3rd October

Well initially the Wheelhorse Garden Tractor did not sell. We had put offers to start at £200 but whilst there were plenty "watchers" no offers. Ebay automatically re-listed it and out of the blue we got an offer of £300 so we accepted, it is to be collected on Saturday.

If you remember the estate agent was due on Thursday. Tuesday night the fridge freezer decided to die on us. Ofcourse it was quite a spectacular exit involving water everywhere. As it was integrated it wasn't going to be straight forward so we moved the frozen food into the chest freezer in the garage and stored the fridge contents in the garage where it is cold. The photo of the kitchen wouldn't show any of this. We shopped around for a replacement and went with Screwfix - if we ordered the day before it would be delivered the following day. We phoned on Thursday and it arrived 7am Friday.

I spent a good few days tidying, clearing, decluttering and cleaning.

The house is now on the market!

Friday 20th September

This is part of a garden project which Jon had plans for but never had the time to complete.

It's part of a wheelhorse garden tractor. Wheelhorse was an American company. When I looked this up I noticed there was a book all about the story of the wheelhorse company (Straight from the Horses Mouth) and thought about buying it for Jon but stopped myself (and there was the price!) we are downsizing, heading towards minimalism! At the beginning of the week we said we had 2 jobs we had to do before the house went on the market. Listing the Wheelhorse on Ebay (will be Sunday) and cutting/trimming the front hedge so any potential buyers passing the house will be able to see it!

Well both done! Estate Agent coming on Thursday to take photos so it will be on Rightmove asap!

Monday 16th September Update

We have made the joint decision that the focus for the time being is the house move which means a serious decluttering. Over the past month every weekend has been spent in the loft, garage and shed sorting stuff out for ebay, tip, giving away or a garden fire.We have one more large garden tractor to deal with and then we should be in a position to put the house up for sale.

The Plan!

We have lived in this house for 33 years, too long by far. We have decided to put the house on the market - once we have decluttered and had a really good sort out.

The three key areas are the loft, the garage and the shed.

We have spent 2 weekends clearing out the loft - one more should do it.

Today we had a dam good session in the garage.

The clearing out sessions have been accompanied by jon's fires!

The local charity shop is doing well as are many friends on Facebook where I post items on a regular basis.

Yes it is all very tiring yet cathartic.

Yesterday I had a moment when I came across a stash of cards I had sent mum over the years together with cards of sympathy from both mum and dad's passings. School reports, photographs, a whole episode of my life.

Tomorrow we are back to a normal routine with Jon being at the workshop and me supporting him. We have made "The Move" the big focus. We haven't been out on the motorbike or done any train spotting, telling ourselves we will have a good break when we move.

Watch this space - it would appear I am back!
