Peggy oil on canvas
When we moved to Liverton over 30 years ago we embraced village life. We kept chickens, ducks and geese. This is a painting I did of Peggy. I had bought a book on using oils but the subject of a flower did nothing to inspire me. I was sitting at the kitchen table as the light was good. As I looked out of the window Peggy came to the window as if to say "paint me!" So I did. She stared at me intently and just as I finished she walked away. I haven't really used oils since as I prefer watercolours or acrylics but I definately captured the moment here with Peggy. Our geese were named after our grandparents. Jo, the gander was named after Jon's grandad. Peggy was named after Jon's grandma and Dolly was named after my nana.
