Y is for Yule...Jonathan Yule

I came across a new artist - well new to me. Jonathan Yule
The paintings of the farming subjects are so vivid and real. We live opposite a sheep farmer and these scenes could be Ronnie himself.

I have always liked Hares in art and for my Christmas present Jon chose one I had admired at a nearby gallery in Thornton-le-Dale. Once the Christmas tree has been taken down and put away I have the perfect spot ready!

Watch this space!

  1. I absolutely adore this Denise - as you know, I collect hares. Might be winging our way over to Thornton before too long in the new year to see whether they have any others.

  2. That is stunning! Show me anything to do with Hares and I'm captured. I'll be checking out the artist soon. x

  3. I like Jonathan Yule's paintings because the colours are so subtle. And anything withares has my vote too.

Happy New Year to you all.

  4. Evocative picture - stirs the imagination. Love those dancing Hares.

  5. That is a beautiful, delicate picture.
I'm sure it will deserve pride of place.

    Maggie x

  6. What a wonderful Christmas present.
Love the way the one cow is checking out the hares dancing (fighting) in the mist.

    cheers, parsnip

  7. That is a beautiful painting. Happy New Year.

  8. Such a fun, playful take on a scene in a pasture. Wonder what the cows must see!

    Happy New Year.

  9. What a charming painting :) I love it! Wishing you both a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Don't know if you've ever come across the Moonlight and Hares blog, but I thought you might enjoy it.

  10. That is a wonderful picture Denise, just love the boxing hares and the sort of bemused look on the faces of the cattle... love it !
    love Di xx
looking forward to seeing it hung!

  11. That is gorgeous! Beats my sonic screwdriver ...

Thank you for your comments, always nice to know somebody has taken the time to let me know what they think.
