Out and About......with an Ornithologist

DIY update..The kitchen is awaiting the last few pieces of granite to be cut and the floor tiles to be matched.....we heard our new fire will be in the store this week so we will be working on the hall and lounge very shortly......in the meantime.....the weather forecast seems to be pretty bleak for the future months - winter is going to be cold, very cold and snow is predicted. This doesn't really bother us as we are keen to put the Rayburn through its paces....and hopefully downstairs will be complet by Christmas...watch this space I'll keep you informed.

I don't think we'll  be going out much on the motorbike as the weather is not biker friendly but somewhere out there the weather will be suitable for a bike adventure and I discovered such the other day.
This is the blog of an artist and her new husband (indeed only married a few days ago) on their honeymoon - a bike adventure to Alice Springs. Bridget is an artist and her drawings are fantastic!
I will be following their adventure with great interest - I can certainly empathise with them, so why not pay them a visit and follow too!

By the look on Bridget's face I am sure we will be in for a fun ride!

  7. That sounds like the coolest kind of honeymoon :-)

Regarding the kitchen, I think it's going to be absolutely beautiful! Our kitchen is actually in the midst of being redone, and I have to keep telling myself how wonderful the final result is going to be (as living without a stove, not being able to use the heat, having big piles of dishes and such everywhere since we had to empty EVERYTHING out, et cetera are not characteristic of happy times ;-))

  10. I hope you can put your stove through its paces without TOO much cold weather. My best friend and her British-born husband have left Canada to live in a narrowboat on an English canal, and the idea of a dreadful winter makes me shiver for them.

  12. Speaking of orthodontics, that awesome helmet looks like just the thing for protecting expensive dental work. My ABC Wednesday is O is for Oracle.

  15. Brrr, that makes me cold just thinking about the wintery climes. I'm so glad you will be warm and snug when that happens.
A honeymoon on the back of a bike wouldn't be my first choice...sorry.

  16. I am glad that your kitchen will be ready before the first icy winter days. That will be a nice and warm place to sit. I also had a look at Bridget and Jeremy's blog. Great idea to share a blog as a couple. Thanks for sharing and also for visiting!

  17. You are a glutton for punishment with the DIY. Setting a deadline for the completion is always a good idea, but even the best laid plans sometimes go awry. Christmas will be here sooner than you think!

Thanks for sharing. And thanks for visiting and taking the time to comment.
Caussade, the place where I took the shots of the oddities and where each year in October there is this big flea market, is located in the South of France. It is 80km north of Toulouse, which about one hour drive from this city;o)
