There was only 2 of us at pottery class this week, so we got lots of attention for our "slab" task.
Basically we had to roll our clay between 2 long rulers as thinly as possible.
Using a pattern I made a rectangular box, with lid and a mouse.
Lid
Box
Mouse
They have to be left for a week to harden like leather.
Next week I will assemble my "cheese dish/tray"
Watch this space!
Oh My Goodness !
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you are having such a good time.
I can't wait to see what glazes you will be using.

This is lovely. I remember doing a slab dish when I took a pottery course quite a few years ago now. Your mouse is so cute.
ReplyDeleteYou are a natural!
ReplyDeleteLove the mouse! I wish we had a class like that around here.
ReplyDeleteYou go from strength to strength Denise - making fantastic progress. It is a difficult one that so few attend the class but it does make sure you get a lot of attention.
ReplyDeleteVery good!
ReplyDeleteKatney sent me the link to your blog as I lost it when i changed the layout and couldn't access it from your profile. So now I'm back!
Great idea to add the mouse to the cheese plate :) Your results look very professional!
ReplyDeleteThese classes are coming round quickly, aren't they? I like the box and the mouse! Will they eventually be decorated? Would be good to see the finished articles.
