Pottery Class 2

Today there was only 4 of us at class and as our previous efforts were awaiting a space in the kiln we were shown how to make a cylinder vase.

The top was fluted and we used a type of mould to make embellishments.

Such fun!

  2. Sounds like you're really enjoying your pottery class. Good for you. I'm thinking of taking a knitting class sometime soon. Great job on the vase.

  4. Love it! Considering it's only your second thing, it's particularly awesome!

I started doing pottery classes in September and I may very well be addicted now - it's such fun making something from a pile of mud. Clay is so much more forgiving than I thought it would be and I like that if I do it wrong, I can wedge it up and start again - no waste, no expense.

Oh, and further to the giggling at your last class that you mentioned last week: I think we've giggled over one creation or another at every single one of my classes - we've had accidental willies, scrotums, urinals and pots with lids that are very clearly boobs! I think that adds to the fun of it :)

  6. Wow - looks like you have found yourself a new calling - that is so good. I went to Art school and I can honestly say my second creation in pottery was no where near as good as that. Needless to say my brother is the potter in the family and I went down the Fashion and Textiles route.
