This photograph was taken last night as we sat in the garden together after a full day of activities. Bing LOVES the beach and had a full session jumping over the rocks, fetching his ball, playing with his new friends the whippet and Labrador exploring the sea - he still is rightly wary and enjoys paddling in the shallow area - then more running up and down the beach.
We are still aware of his interest in the hens - so when he is sitting in the garden, by my side we attach his collar to a chain. Bing loves to have a chew which keeps him occupied but his ears are ever alert and poised.
Zest by ee Cummings....
I thank You God for most this amazing
day: for the leaping greenly spirits of trees
and a blue true dream of sky; and for everything
which is natural which is infinite which is yes
(i who have died am alive again today
and this is the sun’s birthday; this is the birth
day of life and of love and wings: and of the gay
great happening illimitably earth)
how should tasting touching hearing seeing
breathing any–lifted from no
of all nothing–human merely being
doubt unimaginable You?
(now the ears of my ears awake and
now the eyes of my eyes are opened)

Lucky Bing.... I would love a day at the beach and them quiet time in the garden.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering how the chickens like Bing ? all that fluttering of wings and clucking it must be very hard for him not to chase them.
That is one huge tail ! It must have a life of it own.
cheers, parsnip
That Bing is one lucky dog Denise.
ReplyDeleteOh and by the way - I am a great e e cummings fan.
Dogs are so incredible aren't they. I also love the way they have a zest for life. Their unconditional love never ceases to make me smile with joy.

Raising a puppy is hard work - but they give us such unconditional love and so much pleasure. Poor Tegan had her spaying incision come apart a bit, so she has to stay quiet for an extra 2 weeks! Poor thing is so bored, but we have to stand firm with her so she will heal properly. She's so loving and wants to cuddle all the time, even though her cuddling is a bit rough. Can hardly wait to meet Bing some day. Sending woofs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous poem and how wonderful to have a dog that helps bring a little extra zest to your life. Happy Wednesday!
