S is for Spaghetti!

Spaghetti is a great favourite with our hens. Here you can see all 7 of them enjoying some I freshly cooked for their tea. They also love all pasta and rice noodles, cooked rice and potatoes. I tend to mash them all together always with grit. For more ABC fun visit the link in my sidebar.

  1. Is that your cough? Sounds like allergies. Anyway, it's nice that your birds like your concoction.

  2. I just came from my friends house where I delivered all my weedings. I don't mind weeding so much now I know it will provide a tasty meal for her lovely chickens.
It made me smile seeing yours tucking in.

  5. I am so happy you filmed this for us non-chicken owners. Every time you talk about what you feed the chickens I am amazed.
I wonder if they think they are worms ? or do they just like pasta. I love the way the late chicken came running. Plus the clucking was so sweet.
And I did ask before if they like Pesto or a nice Carbonara sauce.
Thanks for the great post today.

  9. This is surprising to me that chickens like spaghetti. I wonder if they think they are eating worms? Chickens are such beautiful creatures and it's nice to see them roam freely.

  10. Why does a chicken cross the road? Because there's pasta (probably a la Bolognese) on the other side. :-)

  12. Do you actually cook it specially for your hens or are they eating some you have left from your meal? If you cook it specially they are jolly lucky hens! Are you off to the TT races shortly?

  14. Do you have Italian hens? And do you think I might replace all that expensive bird seed I buy for the little wild birds with a serving of pasta? Lovely, clucky post.

  20. Hehehe, Italian hens!!!! We have Australian hens in Sarawak. I don't want hens, we are allowed 6 hens, I want a goat. My son doesn't want cows milk, but says he will drink goats milk if they are fresh. I have been looking for a goat since Christmas.
