Spaghetti is a great favourite with our hens. Here you can see all 7 of them enjoying some I freshly cooked for their tea.
They also love all pasta and rice noodles, cooked rice and potatoes. I tend to mash them all together always with grit.

Is that your cough? Sounds like allergies. Anyway, it's nice that your birds like your concoction.
ReplyDeleteROG, ABC Wednesday team
It is my cough Roger - just a tickle! lol!
DeleteI just came from my friends house where I delivered all my weedings. I don't mind weeding so much now I know it will provide a tasty meal for her lovely chickens.
ReplyDeleteIt made me smile seeing yours tucking in.
I have been weeding too Kath - closely watched by Eva. She examines every crack in the patio for worms.
DeleteWhat? No sauce? LOL
ReplyDeleteThey like tinned spagetti too Leslie - ie in tomato sauce! lol! You will see for yourself in August! I'll tell them you will bring something for their snack!
DeleteI never knew hens liked spaghetti!!!! They are beautiful hens.
ReplyDeleteIndeed Meryl xxxx
DeleteI am so happy you filmed this for us non-chicken owners. Every time you talk about what you feed the chickens I am amazed.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if they think they are worms ? or do they just like pasta. I love the way the late chicken came running. Plus the clucking was so sweet.
And I did ask before if they like Pesto or a nice Carbonara sauce.
Thanks for the great post today.
cheers, parsnip
yes AP - just for you! Next round of ABC Wednesday my theme is going to be my chickens - inspired by your comments & interest. Dx
DeleteSpagetti is also one of my favourite dishes! So I agree with your hens! Thanks for your visit and comment. It was great to see
ReplyDeleteJerusalem with Dina , who is a great guide.
Have a wonderful week.Wil, ABC Team.
Indeed - great minds think alike eh?
DeleteIt's so funny watching the hens with the spaghetti - what happy birds they are attacking those white 'worms':-)
ReplyDeleteyes, very happy. I often find myself watching them when I should be working! lol!
DeleteI guess I'm just an old hen too.
ReplyDeleteI love spaghetti and noodles of any kind.
This is surprising to me that chickens like spaghetti. I wonder if they think they are eating worms? Chickens are such beautiful creatures and it's nice to see them roam freely.
ReplyDeleteWhy does a chicken cross the road? Because there's pasta (probably a la Bolognese) on the other side. :-)
ReplyDeleteThey are just loving their feast - lucky hens.
ReplyDeleteDo you actually cook it specially for your hens or are they eating some you have left from your meal? If you cook it specially they are jolly lucky hens! Are you off to the TT races shortly?
ReplyDeleteI know in Asia, some chicken are fed leftover rice but this is the first time I've heard of chicken eating pasta!
ReplyDeleteDo you have Italian hens? And do you think I might replace all that expensive bird seed I buy for the little wild birds with a serving of pasta? Lovely, clucky post.
ReplyDeleteHappy hens. I too love to see that they run free, and I too enjoyed the late hen's enthusiasm.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny! My girlfriend feeds her chickens spaghetti too!
ReplyDeleteI also like spaghetti!
ReplyDeleteHad to chuckle at the speed they demolished it! Glad they enjoyed it and all shared together nicely.

Hehehe, Italian hens!!!! We have Australian hens in Sarawak. I don't want hens, we are allowed 6 hens, I want a goat. My son doesn't want cows milk, but says he will drink goats milk if they are fresh. I have been looking for a goat since Christmas.
