Snow continued through the night and the North East has been one of the hardest hit areas - in particular North Yorkshire. The snow was at least 18" deep so I grabbed my camera and went for a walk up to the horses. I was soaked when I returned home.
More snow is forecast!
Your scenes look a lot like what we've got here in northern Idaho, USA. We're not up to 18", though! I like the house and barn, all dressed for winter...
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying vicariously everyone's snow pictures, while enjoying cool but sunny days in Arizona. When we go home I pray the roads will be plowed and the heater in the car work well for the ride home from the airport. I only have a fall sweater and windbreaker along.
ReplyDeletePretty as a picture -- but not for me to experience! We're complaining at temps in the 50's for the next week! Were you around in 1947? Probably not. That was the big snow in my day. They even closed the village school.
ReplyDeleteStill they are wonderful photos.
Thank goodness it rained here today! It has washed away the snow we had and it has warmed up considerably. However, winter hasn't really begun yet, so there is a while to go before I can be assured there won't be any more of that nasty white stuff. Apparently we are in for a bad winter this year. It looks SO pretty where you are, but I always feel like I'm a bit imprisoned in the snow because I am a bit nervous about driving in it. I guess if we got snow all the time, I'd have a different car, but we have such a mild climate that it doesn't make sense to even buy snow tires. Enjoy your snow while you have it! :D
ReplyDeleteI hate snow. The pictures are lovely but I really don't envy you any of it. We have a bit of snow this morning but I'm hoping it'll melt quickly before I have to go anywhere.
ReplyDeleteOMG ! you already have a lot of snow !! I don't like snow, your poor horses, they can't see the grass anymore ! We will get the snow after you in Belgium, they announced it for Monday ! It snowed a little bit but didn't stay.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad the white stuff for the moment is on your side of the North Sea - but we have kept the cold...
ReplyDeleteMove noted!
Still no snow here on the other side of the Pennines but I don't think we'll escape altogether.
ReplyDeleteYou got some great shots Denise. :)
Just popped over to congratulate you on getting the Goddess Award for one of the posts of the week. We have very similar weather here in the Scottish Borders, which is troubling as we have to travel today! Stay warm.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures, Denise. I've put some on my blog, too. Let's show these southerners that it's tough living ooop north...!! LOL

I'm almost jealous of all the snow everyone else seems to be having, even though it frequently causes huge amounts of havoc! We hardly ever even have frost here in West Wales, so it has been an eye-opener to have to buy de-icer and thaw out the car before using it in the morning. What I'm really jealous of is all those wonderful photographs - a card, in every one - they are beautiful. Ann x
ReplyDeleteIt is SO beautiful. Great shots!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful scenes.
