  3. Hi Denise
I lived in Northallerton for many years - there's nowhere like North Yorkshire! What a collection of gorgeous photos - I particularly like the duck/goose by the lake and the horses below. By the looks of the foreground whizzing past, some look like they've been taken at speed! I've really enjoyed looking at these.

  4. Great photos. Brought back memories of the happy years I lived in North Yorkshire. I remember the trip we took on the steam train to Heartbeat country.

  5. What gorgeous photos! The one of the sheep in the stone shelter - we have shelters like that here in north Wales. Keith thinks they are Neanderthal bus shelters. He thinks prehistoric man was a lot more advanced than we believe. ;)

  6. Just looking at these photos makes my heart SING! And I think I might just cry when we finally meet! So many photographic opportunities - I love the ones of the sailboats, the lone sheep in the shelter, the horses playing in the snow, and that absolutely spectacular tree! I had already planned on bringing 2 memory cards, but now I think I'll be bringing 4 - for each camera! Denise, you have no idea how excited I am about coming to England this summer...I will not want to leave! It has always been a dream of mine to live there or in Wales and BE part of my ancestry. Have a wonderful week, my friend. Hugs!!!

  12. What a super series, Denise. I'm hard put to pick a favorite, although the second-last reminds me of little English cars my parents had in my childhood. But I like the photos with animals (including hens) in them. The horses look happier in the snow than the sheep do.
I'm looking forward to Leslie's photos, too, when she visits you this summer.

  13. Hello.
You are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful place. I can't choose a favorite...all the photos are wonderful...the tree is pretty spectacular...I might have to borrow that one for one of my upcoming collaborations (with permission of course, wink, wink, nod, nod) My wife is from the UK, but I don't think she ever made it that far up, although she did spend a week in the Lake District many years ago. She was born in Berkshire and moved from there to Cambridgeshire before emigrating here to the US. Nice post. Thanks for sharing.

  14. Wonderful photos, - I showed them to Charles who spent time in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire during the war. He was very impressed and probably a little nostalgic.

  15. So many beautiful photos I couldn't pick my photographic favourites or this comment would go for ages.

But you know us men - I have to fall head oover heels in love with the Ford Anglia police car like Z cars comne to life again and the Morris Traveller. In the 1950s when I was young our greengrocer made his deliveries in a Morris Traveller like thatso it brought back many happy memories.

  17. You do live in a lovely part of this beautiful country of ours. The pics of Goatland brought back some nice memories. :)

  18. The Goathland house is my fave. And that blue police car, isn't it the one Ron Weasley flew over the Yorkshire Moors! I just believe God had a special smile for England when He created the world.
