O is for optimism!
ABC Wednesday is here.....
Not long to go now! I noticed there is bunting up in the village in preparation for the Royal Wedding on Friday. Looking through the TV schedule there are quite a few "wedding" themed programmes leading up to this mammoth event. I will be taking my seat early Friday morning and following the event with great interest and enthusiasm. The food will be prepared - English classics of course and we will be toasting the newly weds with bubbly. Other villagers will be popping in.
Whilst some have distanced themselves , as patriarchs we embrace such an event .
What are your plans?

Wedding coverage begins here at 3am ready for the 6am ceremony. I will be away from home at the hospital having tests. Might catch a glimpse over breakfast but that will be all.

Riding pillion up the motorway en route to a weekend conference in Blackpool! Trying to organise radio 4 and earphones inside crash helmet!!
ReplyDeleteThe coverage is immense over here in the States, most people I talk to are excited and if they can will be glued to the TV. I'm meeting up with my British friends and having a day of it in front of the TV. I think someone even said they are making trifle!
ReplyDeleteThe video is classic. I had a huge laugh over it as I believe have many, many thousands of others. Have a great FriDAY. I shall watch the ceremony and we have a Bowls Dinner in the evening so will do some dressing up then! Ann x
ReplyDeleteI love that video!!
ReplyDeleteThe best resembelances are Harry and Camilla. Although they are all good!
We are going to a street party until about 2pm and then we are going to a barbeque in the evening at my mums friends house.

Isn't that such a great spoof. x
ReplyDeleteSome of the likenesses were extremely good, weren't they?
ReplyDeleteWell that won't be happening, will it!
Might tune in to see whats going on. Won't stay glued to the TV though.
Our road isn't doing anything but some round here are closing down & having a party.

Nuts in May
Our coverage starts at 4 a.m. If I wake up on my own, I'll watch some of it.
ReplyDeleteLove the ad.
ROG, ABC Wednesday team
I will sit in front of the tv set and will watch the entire thing. Bubbly is already chilling :)
ReplyDeleteABC-W : O
I will be watching what I can, - especially the actual wedding parts, - 4:00 a.m. is pretty early to start the day, but it is an exciting and historic event!
ReplyDeleteIf I can find out when it will be on in Tucson I might watch... looks like good fun !
ReplyDeleteLove the video, some of the actors really look very close to the Royals.
That crazy American video of the dancing wedding party really had an impact.
Have a fun day...
cheers, parsnip
I think there will be enough follow-up coverage for me to watch, so I don't think I'll be getting up in the wee sma' hours o' the ayem.
ReplyDeleteOptimism is the perfect word, however, Mrs. N.

We Canadians may be far, far away across the pond but we are seeing tons of pre-wedding programming too. I think the prince and soon-to-be princess make a charming couple.
ReplyDeleteI was planning on watching... until all these endless coverage has made me a little tired of the whole thing.
ReplyDeleteIt will be soup and sandwiches for lunch here Denise so that I can watch every inch of the footage. The farmer will go to market as usual - not that I mind, as it means I have the house to myself to enjoy the proceedings.
ReplyDeleteThat is fun and the 29th I will watch the TV :) for sure!
ReplyDeleteTerrific spoof Denise.
ReplyDeleteI will watch the endless updates and reruns of the beautiful day.
Enjoy your bubbly.
Looking forward to going to a street party myself on Friday!
ReplyDeleteVery funny LOL!!! But, I don't think we'll be seeing a royal wedding quite as laid back as this one - at least not this time around.
ReplyDeleteSeen this several times, and laugh every time.
ReplyDeleteWhat a classic.
There will be a live telecast on the wedding on cable, I probably will be watching it here.
ReplyDeletePVR is the best. The fun begins at 3am until the last kiss on the balcony. I will be there watching it all after work on Friday, with some bubbly in my hands, and trying to ignore my whining family. Yes I am a royal freak.
ReplyDeleteA very cleverly done spoof! I'll see a lot of the event as there seems to be a great deal of coverage this side of the pond, too. Enjoy your watch!
ReplyDeleteA terrific spoof with look-alikes. Loved Harry! Incidentally, the original wedding dance of J&K took place here in St. Paul, MN USA. Loved that one, too. I fully intend to set my alarm and get up about 5 min. before 3 am to watch the fanfare. Not embarrassed to admit my fascination for it...a truly remarkable day for the Brits.

ReplyDeleteOh what a fun video lol!
ReplyDeleteA Splash of Orange made my ABC this week, come and see. Thank you!
LOVE the video! And now I find myself wishing just this once that I had a way to digitally record the wedding since we have such a big time difference here. Maybe they'll delay the broadcast here.
ReplyDeleteThe wedding of the century.
lol, a funny dancing video .. Anyway, in our place there will be a coverage for the wedding.
ReplyDeleteI love that video!! I'm not sure we will see the wedding live as we will be in Boise with my son. Not sure how enamored with the Royals they are. I will have to be content with re-runs and will watch for Diana's sake. Go Katherine and William!
ReplyDeletecheers!!
ReplyDeleteTo avoid it as much as possible!
ReplyDeleteyou going? It is Kate fever here.
ReplyDeleteWasn't really looking forward to it but I'm now all caught up in the excitement and will be watching on tv then over to the pub for a re run and 'street' party!
ReplyDeleteI'll do the same, I already told Mr.G that I would squat the sitting room for the whole day !
ReplyDeletePS. If the wedding is like that, I'll take a bedsheet for my tears (of laughter) and not for emotional purposes !
ReplyDeleteWe will be watching too here in the Philippines.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this funny video. I enjoyed, and I played it twice haha.
Happy ABC WEd and thanks for dropping by.
I shall watch - it's history in the making (that's my excuse!) Barry will take the dogs for a long, long walk - it should be nice and empty in the forest:-)
ReplyDeletefun o..i will be watching while working.
ReplyDeleteI am getting addicted with this blogging hobby, I get to see beautiful places and learn interesting things. Very nice O you have here..
ReplyDeleteMind lOOking at my O entry?, have a nice day!
I don't have television so if I watch, it will have to be online. I know it's going to be absolutely beautiful. I stayed up and watched Charles and Diana marry when I was in junior high school. I wish I could see this one. I know that Kate will be a beautiful bride. Thanks so much for stopping by to see me and for commenting. Blessings! Candace
ReplyDeleteI needed a good laugh right now. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteLoved the video! Can't imagine the real one will be as much fun tho!
ReplyDeletehave wonderful week!
In Australia, we have been inundated with pre-wedding excitement! Even this video appeared as part of a news item! There is no news without some update or some suggestion of what will Kate wear and where will they honeymoon? Many believe that Australia is on the list!
ReplyDeleteI love that video! If only ...
ReplyDeleteI did not get up at 1:00 a.m. this morning our time to attend the wedding. I wish the bride and groom all the best.
ReplyDeleteI threw an impromptu BBQ after watching most of it on the telly (whilst pottering about in the kitchen), and yes, we did pop some bubbly to mark the occassion (smile)!
