Well surprise surprise! We had wonderful sunshine today. Last night when I put the hens to bed they did look quite sad. Their feathers were quite wet due to the horrible weather we have had - but today they absolutely made the most of the sunshine and had a dustbath! Their deep clucking shows how much they enjoyed it!
Aww, bless them! They really did enjoy themselves - extra eggs tomorrow ;-)
ReplyDeleteThey almost sound like cats purring! :D
ReplyDeleteI hope the sun last out until tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteAh cute! I never saw hens have clucking noises that low before! Wanna come see my 55er? It's at http://www.thelunaticsdiary.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYes Denise my hens are exactly the same. They don't mind strolling through the wet grass but they hate the rain falling on their feathers. Hasn't the weather been awful (alternate days here).
ReplyDeleteSuch a contented sound. You know I could really get quite fond of chickens -- and if my husband doesn't let me have another cat soon, I may just get one! The shelter is just not enough.
ReplyDeleteAh to be so content!

Nice to see them enjoying themselves. :)
ReplyDeleteWe just invited a fancy small flock in at our place, so they would be safe.
ReplyDeleteVery tall, slim birds, quite upright...
That looks very cozy.. the weather is changing we all wanna cuddle!
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog.
ReplyDeleteI suppose that is what you call a real hen party!
Awwww, aren't they gorgeous? Oh, this weekend we had torrential rain, too - Poor Abby was camping out doing her Duke of Edinburgh Bronze .. she came home looking like a drowned rat!
ReplyDeleteDenise, on your new site, I can't find anywhere to post a comment - have you activated it?
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...soooo cute!
ReplyDeleteThose gorgeous little ladies sound so happy!
