White Christmas?

Photobucket

This was the scene from my study window a couple of years ago. I am not sure what the predictions are for the Christmas period but I would be surprised if we had snow. I love snow at Christmas simply because the village looks lovely but when people have to make car journeys it all gets rather dangerous. I do not like driving in the snow, despite having a 4x4. Jon however is in his element and rises to the challenge.

A few Christmas cards have started to arrive but I am keeping them all until the weekend as it is the village carol service at the village pub, the Waterwheel and this is when I feel christmas has started and I get in the mood for the festivities. We will bring the tree down from the loft and hand a wreath on the gate. I also need to think about our own christmas cards......I always try to find a suitable picture and keep the design simple!

Hmmmmmmmm!

  1. That's a pretty Christmas scene. No snow here in my little Canadian back yard yet, but I'm sure it will be arriving soon.
Meanwhile I'll have to get on with writing my Christmas cards and posting them before the deadline!

  2. That's the sort of scene which looks lovely if you don't have to go out in it, Denise. I shall put your new site on my blog this instant - sorry I have neglected you - hope to see you for a cuppa one day soon.

  4. I like looking at snow but I hate having to go out in it. I'm hoping it won't snow before the 18th December - that's when I retire and I won't have to go out if it snows! LOL

  8. Sorry! That scene does nothing for my nostalgia! It reminds me of why I now live in a country with sweltering Christmases! (Not much of an improvement!) My 'nostalgic' England is all green!

  9. We've had snow for the last week and are looking forward (ha!) to lots more tomorrow. Rain sounds good.

  11. Denise, you are about as good as me if you're only just getting started with cards!

As for snow...not for me! I saw all the snow I ever want to see (except in photographs) when we lived in Toronto and Minnesota.

  12. That is really a white Christmas. Too white for me, I only want a dusting. Living in Minnesota we never know for sure what the weather is going to be, but nothing like that I hope.
