Christmas
I am more or less ready for Tuesday. I have also put down the stick I was beating myself with. Watching Kirsty's Homemade Christmas was not helping, neither were the comments from my neighbours "Oh Denise wasn't the same without your card!" or "I have saved your cards - wasn't the same getting one you had not made!" SO taking a positive move I phoned a couple of close friends in the village and we are meeting here in January having a sherry ( or two) and will make next year's Christmas Cards - using this year's cards! Watch this space! Yay! Positive thinking rules!
On that note ......it's Goodnight from him.....
Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2013 from all of us here in the Nesbitt madhouse!

As for your friends saying that they missed your card... isn't it lovely that they so look forward to your cards ! so next year they will be so happy.
The best gift you can give yourself, family and friends is to be well and enjoy the day !
Merry Christmas to you all.

Absolutely do not beat yourself with the no-homemade-cards stick!
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone is doing you a favor by saying how much they miss them, because they're only thinking of themselves, and not of you. Canadian reprimands to all of those people, and congratulations to you for having made cards in other years!
Bing is just a darling, especially asleep in his own little bed which he will, of course, rapidly outgrow!
Wishing you and Jon and the dogs and hens all the best for Christmas and the coming year.

Merry Christmas to you and your family. The new puppy is adorable. And I'm glad you've stopped beating yourself up - it's easier said than done, I know!
ReplyDeleteSmooches and scratches for Bing -- and no more beating yourself. I used to do so much for Christmas until it became a real burden. Now with the kids grown and gone, and all the countless programs of church and school for 40 years are over, I still do the turkey dinner and easy decorations, but we so appreciate a quiet Christmas Day!
ReplyDeleteHave a truly blessed Christmas, you've earned it.
Merry Christmas to you too !
ReplyDeleteOne sometimes feel like that dog :-)

ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, I seemed to have missed out on the Christmas bit. Give yourself a deadline of mid February for those cards... I had photo prints made in ample tine, I didn't manage to make the cards though!!
