Kitchen Update!
Jon is very busy with his business right now, but he did take the time on Sunday afternoon to fit the new lights. He had to do a lot of work under the floorboards of the bedroom but it was all worth it.
The photographs are not accurate but will give a good idea of what it is looking like. The ceiling is white, not pink. The walls are Pale Hound, same as the snug.
The sink unit is being delivered on Thursday together with some doors and a corner unit, so we are very much nearly there.
We still have no taps - that will happen later this week but every day, in every way things get better and better.

I like your spotlights - very neat, very streamlined. It's good to get all the mess out of the way in one fell swoop. You won't know yourselves when it's all finished:-)
ReplyDeleteI have lights like that in my kitchen - great aren't they? :)
ReplyDeleteLove the lights :) I had them in a previous kitchen. Can't have them in this one as the floor above is concrete :(
ReplyDeleteVery posh!

I always fancied spotlights so I feel envious about yours. They're lovely, Denise.
ReplyDeleteNothing more disruptive than men under yer floorboards LOL
ReplyDeleteLooking great, well done so far. Thanks for your visit, to answer your question: I'm in the Midi-Pyrenees region (Haute Garonne Department), very near the border with Spain. Sadly the campsite I'm staying closes by the end of the month so I'll have to find another one very soon.
ReplyDeleteOh, this is looking so fabulous already !
ReplyDeleteAnd it will get batter and better, sometimes the last bits seem to take the longest.
The sentence I really liked in your post was.... "Jon is very busy in his business right now"
What a wonderful thing to be able to say. My daughter has been out of work (except for some part-time) for a year and a half.
Love the lights !
cheers, parsnip
I want a snug!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI had spot lights in our last kitchen and I wasn't a big fan of them......I like a bright kitchen, but that's just me.

Love that you put in potlights! I'd like those, too, but might do one drop light over the sink and two over the counter instead. Looking good, g'friend!!!

ReplyDeleteVery stylish like Roger says!
ReplyDeleteA kitchen is the most important room in a house, in my opinion!!
You've made a lot of progress on your kitchen. It will be great!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see your finished kitchen.
ReplyDeleteYay, its almost finished. Your sweet Hubby is a man of many talents. I think he needs a coronation when this is done.

ReplyDeleteIs the kitchen saga coming to an end ? Hopefully very soon, it must be awful to live (or rather camp) like this for such a long time. You will enjoy it even more !
Your new kitchen deserves to be in the spotlight(s)!

Love the lights. Finally its all coming together. You deserve a medal for putting up with all that mess. I know the end is worth it but I do so hate disruption in my life.
ReplyDeleteWonderful lights! It's gonna be a spectacular place!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's all coming together now, won't be long before you're all finished. The lights look great.
ReplyDeleteVery impressive installation...
ReplyDeleteWhat is the saying, oh yes, "lights, camera, action". Looking good Denise.
ReplyDeleteBTW I don't think you will have 'passed' the area of the kite festival (Port Haverigg) as you would have to make a run for the coast but think what you are finding familiar is the the hill - Black Combe on the south west coast of Cumbria. Possibly seen from a motor bike on the A595?
I just rented a 1920s house, two rooms have bare floor boards, they look so beautiful that you don't dare to step on it in case you scratch it.
ReplyDeleteHow long have you got to renovate?
Its been a while i have been at your blog, but you still amuse me.
ReplyDeleteThe lights look fancy to me, i can imagine putting dark blue wallpaper on them to get the skylight feeling.
The lights look great! It looks like a challenging job, too.
